APPEL A CANDIDATURES POUR PARTICIPER A LA 2ème EDITION DU FESTIVAL DIRIDIRI/CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR DIRIDIRI FESTIVAL SECOND EDITION

Umunyinya ASBL, à travers sa compagnie Umunyinya Theatre Company, promeut la création de contenus et de spectacles pour le jeune public au Burundi depuis 2018. Grâce au soutien d'Ishyo Arts Centre et de l’Ambassade de France au Burundi, via l'Institut Français, Umunyinya a initié le festival DIRIDIRI, premier festival dédié à la création de contenus et de spectacles pour le jeune public au Burundi, qui a lieu tous les deux ans.

Après une première édition consacrée à l’environnement, nous sommes heureux d’annoncer que la 2ᵉ édition du festival poursuivra cette même thématique. Ces cinq dernières années, le Burundi a connu des irrégularités climatiques majeures, provoquant d’importantes destructions et des déplacements de populations. La question du changement climatique reste au cœur des débats, tant au Burundi qu'à l’échelle mondiale.

Dans cette optique, Umunyinya invite les porteurs de projets artistiques destinés au jeune public à soumettre leurs candidatures pour participer à la 2ᵉ édition du festival DIRIDIRI, qui se tiendra à Bujumbura du 24 au 27 septembre 2025. Le festival est ouvert à toute compagnie, nationale ou internationale, souhaitant y participer. Toutefois, les compagnies étrangères devront prendre en charge leur transport international, et aucun cachet de prestation ne sera prévu.

Umunyinya ASBL, through its company Umunyinya Theatre Company, has been promoting the creation of content and performances for young audiences in Burundi since 2018. With the support of Ishyo Arts Centre and the French Embassy in Burundi, through the Institut Français, Umunyinya launched the DIRIDIRI festival, the first festival in Burundi dedicated to the creation of content and performances for young audiences, held every two years.

Following a first edition focused on environmental issues, we are pleased to announce that the second edition of the festival will continue with the same theme. Over the past five years, Burundi has experienced significant climate irregularities, leading to major destruction and displacement of populations. The issue of climate change remains at the center of discussions both in Burundi and worldwide.

In this context, Umunyinya invites artistic project holders focusing on young audiences to submit their applications for the 2nd edition of the DIRIDIRI festival, which will take place in Bujumbura from September 24 to 27, 2025. The festival is open to all companies, both national and international, wishing to participate. However, international companies will be required to cover their own international transport costs, and no performance fees will be provided.
